Guidance from a Family Law Attorney Who Has Been There

I practice divorce and family law because I have lived it. I know the emotional weight these cases carry, and I understand how much is at stake, especially when children are involved. Family law is one of the most difficult areas of practice, not because of the complexity of the law itself, but because what is at stake goes far beyond finances, it is about people, relationships, and the future of families.

I am a divorced mom and currently co-parent my young son. Co-parenting isn’t easy, not even for a family law attorney, but it is possible, and it is manageable with the right support and mindset. That personal experience deeply informs how I practice. I bring not only legal skill to the table, but also real-world insight and empathy for what my clients are going through.

Before founding Pereira Divorce and Family Law, I built my experience both in and out of the courtroom. I earned my law degree from Delaware Law School after completing a Business Administration degree at Pace University. I began my legal career with an externship at the Union County Superior Court, working alongside the Honorable Daniel Roberts, J.S.C., and later served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Chanel J. Hudson, J.S.C., in both the family and criminal divisions.

After my clerkship, I joined Shaw Divorce & Family Law, where I managed my own caseload, handled complex matters from start to finish, and worked closely with clients navigating separation, custody, support, and settlement.

Now, through my own firm, I offer clients personalized, strategic legal guidance, with a deep understanding of both the legal system and the emotional journey that comes with it. Whether you are just starting the process or you are facing difficult decisions mid-way through, I am here to help you move forward with strength and clarity.
